About Pathology Services

PathologyService, LLC. was founded in 1996. In 2007, the company was bought by Sean Draime and incorporated as PathologyService, Inc.

Sean has been in healthcare equipment service since 1995. After completing active service in the United States Marine Corps as an Aviation Electronics Technician working on F-18s, his father suggested a career in the medical field as a biomedical technician. His career included working for companies such as AMSCO, Fisher Scientific, Getinge Castle, and R&F Imaging, where he served as the Director for the Biomedical Division. While working in all areas of biomed, from technician to management, to service and equipment sales, he realized his passion was histology.

After purchasing and incorporating PathologyService, Sean initially ran it out of his garage while servicing 3 surrounding states. Over the years, our customers, friends, and family continued to refer to us as “PSI®,” and now, with many thanks to our happy customers sharing kind words about PSI®’s service quality, the company has grown to service 15 states.

People often ask, “How can you service so many states across the country?”

“It’s easy,” Sean replies, “Quality PMs and a little time to review operator maintenance with staff at each visit. When done properly, you won’t need us until next year!” This has been our proven business model for growth. Though our team at PSI® has changed over the years, our quality and fair pricing has always remained consistent. By listening to customer needs, we can supply solutions and prevent extensive downtime.

Sean and the PSI® team have received training on all the major OEMs: Sakura, Leica, Thermo, and Slee. PSI® was even an authorized Sakura Service Group for a period of time. However, in 2019 Sean realized the need for an OEM that was more willing to working with third-party service providers. It was then he was invited to review the Intelsint Products at the factory in Italy. The PSI® team spent a week of reviewing the quality equipment and their manufacturing processes. Afterwards, it was an easy decision to join forces, and in 2020, PSI® became the US Importer for Intelsint.

PSI® is now making it possible for third-party vendors and in-house biomedical technicians to be trained on servicing the Intelsint Products at the Import and Training Center. After training, biomed technicians can then buy PM and repair parts direct or through Certified Intelsint Dealers across the country. No other manufacturer offers BioMed training; they prefer to sell separate service contracts. Our vision is to save money for histology labs, both on the purchase of new equipment and the yearly service contracts for key equipment. Through continued hard work, it is now becoming a reality.

We are deeply grateful to all our customers for the support and confidence in PSI® through the years. We’re not the other guys; we’re like family. See the difference for yourself.
